Minim Zing1 Ice Blue Guilloché Brings Craft and Culture to Life

I had seen the early previews of the dials. I had listened to the conversations, even spoken to the creator herself.

The only thing left was the watch on my wrist. And then, there it was.

The Zing1 (Ice Blue), shimmering in the sunlight.

Anyone who knows me knows I have a soft spot for dress watches, which means objectivity doesn’t come easily.

I didn’t want to rush into writing anything before letting the experience settle and unpack itself properly.

What struck me most was how it made me feel.

One glance at my wrist and a smile would appear instantly.

So I’d check again, and sometimes a third time, just to make sure.

Same result, every time.

The three CNC guilloché patterns: écailles de poisson on the outer dial, a flinqué patter on the inner dial and a sunburst motif on the seconds subdial, catch the light in a way that feels almost alive, constantly luring your eyes back.

The ice blue dial is bold but refined, striking without trying too hard, a touch quieter perhaps than its siblings, the Laan4 (purple) and Bik1 (green).

I even tried to challenge myself.

Maybe it’s too small, I thought… until I saw it on a larger wrist than mine and, once again, there it was, the same involuntary smile.

Happy for the person wearing it, absolutely.

But also silently plotting its return to my wrist at the earliest opportunity.

Watches, on paper, shouldn’t make sense.

Timekeeping today is effortless, a glance at a phone and you’re done.

But let me ask you this: does your phone make you smile every single time you check the time?

This watch does.

Without fail.
